America as a Christian Nation, America as a White Nation — [By , About.com GuideJuly 28, 2007] — I’ve written more than once about how claims and arguments about America being a Christian Nation are equally valid for America being a White Nation. The arguments are, ultimately, the same with only the names being changed. Even the underlying attitude is largely the same: an attempt to set up one group of people as superior and privileged over all others. Although few enough people realize the similarity here, even fewer seem to understand the strong connections between the two. Those who claim that America is a White Nation, founded by Whites for Whites, also often make the argument that America is a Christian Nation which was founded by Christians for Christians. White Supremacy and White Nationlism are frequently accompanied by Christian Supremacy and Christian Nationalism. But does the connection work in the opposite direction as well? The Knight’s Party, a KKK organization, leads off their party platform with these two points:
